You may know of Jack Thompson, a Floridiot who some how passes as a lawyer (despite being forced to have a mental test, and literally making stuff up on television) in America.
You should remember the Virginia Tech shootings earlier this year. You may remember that before the dead were counted, shooter named, or anyone stopped going "Ahhh! What the smeg!?" Mr Thompson appeared on Fox News. He said something along the lines that the shooter played Counter-Strike, so therefore, he must have been influenced by it.
Of course, according to the public, if there is a videogame anywhere near a shooting, case-closed.
Anyway, an offical report found that there were no games in the shooter's room. At all. Not even Tetris. Oddly, this fact wasn't broadcast as much as "OMFG! GAEMES! MAEKING KIDZ TK EACH UVVER!".

And based on most people on Halo 3, even if a gamer did get a gun, he'd just manage to drop it, complain about lag then tell the police to "SFTU nubcakes rofl".

Some people are so stupid. game's do not influence murder, these people need to realise that. If your that fucking psycho to go and get a gun and kill everyone in your neighbourhood, it ain't the game that's done it.

This thing irritates me so much, it creates a public image of where if you play something like Counter Strike or whatever that your going to turn into a psychopathic moron, wrong people if you play games and decide to show everyone your psychopathic moron side you were ALREADY a psychopathic moron you just decided to re-enact a game while being your already psychopathic moronic self.

It's like people blame games for anything these days...

"That kid just jumped face first into a wall, damn that evil satanic Spiderman game, with all the red symbolizing death it changes his mind!"

Umm, no. He's just licking the wall because your staring at a mental institute, but no alas it must be the game.
