Ok this is going to be quite a long post so just sit back and take a while to get all the information.
Friday that just went passed a few members of the current council (Scythian, Ryan, Sky Hawk, Caspa and me) had a council meeting to discuss the current affairs and what we need to do to move forwards. We basically covered 3 main topics that needed to be addressed and they were Recruitment, Organization and the Website. I'm going to go through the notes of the topics that we went through and look at them in detail so that everyone is on the same page as to where we are going and what we are doing.
Recrutment
Ryan recently found 3 possible candidates that were interested in joining the Crusade. One I believe is still undecided as to whether he wishes to join however the other two decided against joining us because from looking on the site and reading the forums they found us unorganized. They have now joined clan Halestorm, a multi gaming clan much like us who support virtually all the games we do however are organized, have a good looking website and have more than 10 members. I'm not saying that Halestorm are way better than us however their ahead of us in becoming a large clan that games together and recruits members regularly. So the problem is organization and looks. We'll look at both of those later however now we'll stick with recruitment.
We're going to start opening our doors to people outside of the Uk. We wanted to be Uk exclusive however the idea of becoming well known and full of new and active members is going to be very difficult without being diverse. Better late than never it has become apparent to me that gaming with people outside the Uk is not going to cause a huge lag factor. We all game with people from around the world each day and that doesn't cause us heaps of lag so we have dispelled one of the reasons why we wouldn't be an international gaming clan. I think that the only restriction would be that the person needs to be able to speak english within a good degree of accuracy.
So far we have had a large variety of games that we support however the number of Divisional Leaders is quickly overtaking the number of actual members we have. Thus we have decided to prune the website and make Chrome Hounds, Rainbow 6 Vegas, Gears of War, Phantasy Star Universe and Call of Duty 3 the main games to focus on. This means removing Splinter Cell Double Agent, LOTR: Battle for middle earth, GRAW, Call of Duty 2 and possibly Battle Field from the clan. With this we're going to start focusing our efforts into these games and recruiting from their. Scythian and Ryan are going to start looking into new games coming out for the 360 and looking at how we can implement them into the clan if at all. We're going to look mainly at large titles coming out however if their is a game you feel that needs attention please tell either Scythian or Ryan and they'll look into it.
Organization
Organization is a big thing that we need to get down. If we get organized, things start happening and we move forwards. So in light of that I'm going to start looking into how other clans got to their top spots and what problems they have encountered. We're going to dedicate certain times of the month to co-op games and give specific games a game day where all the members get on one game and play that all night. Of course we're not going to detract from the fun of gaming by designating every single day of the year to a certain game however a few days of the month will become Gears of War or PSU day.
Clan matches are something we've tried and failed at recently however we're not going to give up on them. The council are going to start organizing clan matches to make more of a name for ourselves but we need your support and time to get them off the ground. We're also going to start doing in clan competitions and re-do the current clan structure however the details of these things are yet to be decided upon.
Website
Finally the website. I have gone back and edited the website by removing unnecessary pages, finishing off blank ones and even added some new pages such as a games section and a guest book. Their are going to be a few more changes later on with the re-structure of the clan however for now the main site is done. The 'join us' form has been updated and I'd ask that you direct any new recruits to fill out that form. Apart from what's been done to the site already we want to get some video's of our matches and such uploaded on here so that people have a visual guide to what we are, and what we do.
That's pretty much it for now, I'll make a few more posts later however for now I have to go. Please post your comments, suggestions and thoughts here, all of it is useful so say anything about anything posted!

In a word, Sweet.
Well done Immy, and lets all follow suite and try and get things moving.
From now on, we want to start hosting games and not just joining them on the likes of GoW and R6 etc and, when people have playted a lot, invite them to meet up later for more games.
Thus we can start getting to know more people who we can then force, at gunpoint if neccesary, to join the squad
So let's all get our asses moving and start acting like a Clan and not just a bunch of peeps who occasionally meet up for games eh _________________

Just too let everyone know that I've virtually finished doing both the main site and this forum. I've added new sections, deleted old ones and made it neater for visitors and members.
Oh and keep this discussion going. _________________ Grab life by the horns, kick it in the balls and when it stands up to fight make sure you have the bigger axe!

Sure I'll start doing that, however I believe your moderator status gives you that ability as well. _________________ Grab life by the horns, kick it in the balls and when it stands up to fight make sure you have the bigger axe!

It all sounds very exciting and productive just now and can I just say that Imshall has put in a lot of work to make the pad we are looking at and typing on even now happen, so Thanks Imshall!
Only one comment here, I find it hard to believe we were declined due to a "Lack of organisation". Always remember, the more organised something is, the less fun it probably will be. I agree we need structure, but not over-delvelopment. At the end of the day it's this persons loss that they never joined our band of merry misfits, not ours for not having him here. Let's keep all this organisation in mind but most of all..let's continue to have fun because it's what we're really here for
As a close, Any actions by the council decided at the meeting that require supporting or further work I will of course make myself available for to work on.
Happy Christmas

i like the idea of a big sort out. and i too can't believe that we were turned down due to "lack of organisation". i mean, we're a clan of guys that know eachother not some hyper mega massive clan that you could bump into a member of your clan and not know who the heck they are and i prefer it like this. we get to kow eachother and we get to know how we all play.
as to expanding for oversea players in our clan, the lag is a big problem (and time zones). i'm in Stoke and i get lag problems ( mother Puppying tiscalli). the idea of trimming the games we play is a good idea, but i think to really be sucsessful we need to make a few games our main targets for getting the higher ranking. obviously Vegas is a popular title and this should be in the list but some of our members are not fans of the Ghost recon titles and so sohuld be a secondary aim. i think we need some more gears going on!
i've been in a pretty serious clan before and, yes, they were more organised than us, but games are meant to be fun and i prefer things this way. we actually get to have lives on and offline without too muhc pressure.
i'm headding home in two or tree weeks for easter before my end of year exams so this is going to be a very tough time for me with reports and coursework to be handed in so i might not be as aviailable as i would like, but once this section is over (i dont want uni to end ) i'll have three months of time then i'm all yours baby![/i] _________________ "Whatever you do, don't use the missiles!"
